Settling Unease in Response to COVID-19

March 24, 2020

The unprecedented nature of the Coronavirus (COVD-19) has left many feeling anxious and concerned. Across the IAT family, we share concerns about our loved ones who are at-risk, childcare, how to discuss the pandemic with children, and even the nature of working remotely.

To help us through these challenges, there are several IAT resources available to all employees and their dependents through our Employee Assistance Program vendor Optum. Through Optum's Live and Work Well site, you will find helpful tips and mindfulness techniques, informative videos, and webinars for coping with coronavirus anxiety. To provide further support, Optum has recorded two seminars addressing the stress components that surround COVID-19. Coping with Traumatic Events and Get the Best of Stress have been updated to provide specific examples pertaining to COVID-19 and a more thorough approach to managing member anxiety and fear around this outbreak. Employees and their dependents can access these resources using this link:

Here you'll find articles, guides, self-help tools and videos on coping with stress.

Additionally, Optum offers a toll-free emotional support line that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week: 866-342-6892. This line is available to anyone, including family and friends, who may need to speak with a professional.

Please know that the IAT family is here to support you in all the days ahead. We will get through this time of uncertainty together.
